The designated candidate for the position of Prime Minister, Vasile Tofan, will request the Parliament’s vote of confidence for the Activity Program and the composition of the new cabinet of ministers in the plenary session on July 21st. The convening of the session was approved by the Permanent Bureau of the legislature. So far, Vasile Tofan has not publicly presented the team with which he will appear in front of the deputies, reports IPN.
Until the Parliament session, the designated candidate continues consultations with representatives of associations from various fields, civil society, and parliamentary factions, in order to finalize the Government Program and the composition of the cabinet of ministers.
Vasile Tofan has been nominated for the position of Prime Minister by President Maia Sandu, at the proposal of the Action and Solidarity Party, following the resignation of Alexandru Munteanu. Currently, the interim of the position is ensured by Deputy Prime Minister Eugeniu Osmochescu.
According to the legislation, the Government is invested with the vote of the majority of elected deputies.
