Citizens can monitor, in real time, how public money is being spent by central and local authorities, through the Budget Execution Portal, launched as a pilot by the Ministry of Finance. The launched platform provides access to information on the budget execution of public institutions at all levels, reports IPN.
According to the Ministry of Finance, the portal presents budget data in an interactive and simplified format, to facilitate public access to information about the use of public money. The platform includes data on the budget execution of central and local public administration institutions, from the Presidency, Parliament and Government to ministries, agencies, county councils and town halls.
The institution specifies that the portal will be gradually developed, including based on user suggestions.
According to the authorities, the launch of the portal contributes to the increase of budget transparency and the modernization of public administration.
