An anti-tank grenade, discovered in a household in Causeni

An anti-tank grenade was discovered in the household of a 57-year-old man from the Causeni district. According to preliminary information, the explosive device would have been kept since the time of the Nistru war, reports IPN.

The General Inspectorate of Police notes that the grenade was discovered following searches carried out based on operational information. The explosive device was hidden in an auxiliary building on the property. It was safely removed and will be examined.

The police continue their investigations to establish all the circumstances of the case and the origin of the grenade.

Law enforcement officials reiterate that the illegal possession of weapons, ammunition, and explosive materials constitutes a crime and is punished according to the law. Furthermore, individuals who discover such items are urged not to touch them and to immediately call the 112 Service.

Approximately 13,400 non-commercial vehicles from the Transnistrian region have been registered with neutral model plates since the launch of this mechanism in September 2018. However, data for the first half of the current year shows an increase in the number of registrations with national model plates: 2,834 vehicles received national plates, compared to 952 – neutral plates, reports IPN.

The Bureau of Reintegration Policy notes that the dynamics of registrations in the subdivisions of the Public Services Agency reflect the gradual integration of the inhabitants from the left bank of the Dniester into the unique legal space of the Republic of Moldova and their access to the services and facilities offered by the national legal framework.

At the same time, the authorities remind that the mechanism of neutral license plates has a temporary and transitional character. This allows the inclusion of vehicles in the national registry, their monitoring in national and international road traffic, and facilitates the compliance of vehicle owners from the Transnistrian region with the requirements of the regulatory framework.
