Teachers who will go to teach school subjects in Romanian in the UTA Gagauzia could receive a one-time allowance of 300 thousand lei, provided they work for at least five years in the institution where they will be assigned. The measure is provided in a project of the Ministry of Education and Research, published for public consultations, reports IPN.
The project targets both Romanian Language and Literature teachers, as well as teaching staff who are going to teach other school subjects in Romanian. Both novice and experienced teaching staff will be able to benefit from the support measures. They must have higher education corresponding to the qualification for the taught subject and the right to carry out teaching activities in general education.
The compensation will be granted in two equal installments, each of 150 thousand lei. The first will be paid no later than October 30th in the year in which the allocation and job placement took place, and the second – six months after the allocation date, provided that the employment relationship is maintained.
If the beneficiary resigns on his own initiative before the completion of the five years or is dismissed for reasons attributable to him, he will have to fully refund the amount received. The money will not have to be refunded if the termination of activity occurs for reasons such as child care leave, death, medically confirmed inability to work, force majeure situations, or the approval of a new relocation by the MEC.
