The water flow remains low on most rivers in the country. The Authority for Meteorology and Environmental Monitoring has issued an orange code warning for the Nistru river and two sectors of the Prut river, a yellow code for a sector of the Prut, and a red code for six small rivers, reports IPN, for the period of September 12-18.
On the Nistru river, the water flow constitutes 30% of the multi-annual average values for the month of September, with an orange code being established.
On the Prut River, an orange code is in effect on the Criva-Costesti sector, where the water flow constitutes 20% of the multiannual monthly average values, and on the Ungheni-Branza sector, with 20-30%. On the Costesti-Ungheni sector, a yellow code is instituted, the water flow constituting 40% of the multiannual monthly average values.
The red code is valid on the small rivers Vilia, Ichel, Draghiste, Cubolta, Ciulucul Mic and Botna, where the water flow is 10% or less than the multiannual monthly average values.
The Authority for Meteorology and Environmental Monitoring recommends that businesses and the population use water resources rationally.
