The expansion of trade exchanges between the Republic of Moldova and Hungary, as well as the European path, were discussed by President Maia Sandu and the Prime Minister of Hungary, Péter Magyar, during a telephone conversation, reports IPN.
Maia Sandu reaffirmed the interest of the Republic of Moldova in developing the strategic partnership with Hungary, initiated in 2020. In this context, the two officials discussed the opportunities to deepen economic cooperation and stimulate investments.
Another topic addressed was the accession of the Republic of Moldova to the European Union. The head of state thanked Hungary for the support given to the country’s European path and reiterated the commitment of the authorities in Chisinau to reforms, modernization of institutions, and alignment with European standards.
On the agenda of the phone discussion was also the security situation in the region, affected by Russia’s war of aggression.
