IGP is investigating the case of the three Israelis who were allegedly prevented from boarding the Chisinau-Odessa bus

The General Inspectorate of Police is investigating the incident in which three Israeli citizens were allegedly not allowed to board a bus on the Chisinau-Odessa route. The police are examining the actions of the individuals involved and compliance with the legislation regarding road passenger transport, IPN reports.

IGP specifies that the checks were ordered in the context of information appearing in the public space. Depending on the results of the checks and any violations found, the measures provided by the current legislation will be ordered.

The incident allegedly took place at Chisinau International Airport, where the three Israeli citizens, including an 11-year-old child, were about to take a bus on the Chisinau-Odessa route. The driver and the company representative reportedly denied them access to the bus and insulted them on anti-Semitic grounds. The case was reported by the Israeli Embassy, which requested the IGP to investigate the incident.

The case takes place in the context of the annual pilgrimage to Uman. These days, several Hasidic Jews transit through the Republic of Moldova to Ukraine to participate in the events dedicated to the Jewish New Year, celebrated from September 11-13.
