Three Israeli passengers, including an 11-year-old child, were allegedly prevented from boarding a bus on the Chisinau-Odessa route and insulted on anti-Semitic grounds. The Israeli Embassy has requested the General Inspectorate of Police to investigate the incident, reports IPN.
According to the Embassy’s approach, the incident allegedly took place on Tuesday, at the “Eugen Doga” International Airport in Chisinau. The three passengers had valid tickets, paid in advance through the Infobus platform, for the 03:20 AM flight, operated by Gal Trans company.
According to passenger reports, after presenting their boarding passes, the driver and the representative of the airport transport company allegedly denied them access to the bus. When they asked for an explanation, they were reportedly insulted and told they could not board because they were Jewish. Subsequently, the bus left, and the three were left in the airport terminal.
The Embassy clarifies that passengers were forced to find another means of transport during the night, at a significantly higher cost. They requested Gal Trans and Infobus companies for a refund and payment of damages.
In the address sent to the police, the Israeli Embassy requests the examination of the circumstances of the incident and the behavior of the persons involved, as well as the undertaking of measures provided by law.
Contacted by IPN for a reaction, the representatives of the Gal Trans company requested the submission of a written request. The General Inspectorate of Police communicated that it will return later with a response in this case.
