A 40-year-old man has been sentenced to 18 years in prison for the murder of a child from the Edinet district. According to the General Prosecutor’s Office, the 16-year-old adolescent, with physical and mental disabilities, died from injuries sustained after allegedly being assaulted by the defendant, reports IPN.
According to prosecutors, the child was living with his mother in the convicted man’s household. In December of last year, the defendant, dissatisfied with the minor’s behavior, allegedly resorted to physical violence on several occasions. As a result of the injuries sustained, the teenager passed away. The man called the 112 service and informed the police about the incident.
Before the court, he admitted his guilt and declared that he regrets the act committed. The court’s decision is not final and can be appealed to the appellate court.
