The future peace agreement in Ukraine would not include a proposal from the Ukrainian side regarding the withdrawal of Russian troops from the Transnistrian region. The statement was made by the head of the presidential administration in Kiev, General Kirill Budanov, in an interview, reports IPN.
General Kirill Budanov explained that, at present, negotiations for ending the war are not just theoretical, but real visions that are intensively unfolding. Asked if the evacuation of the Russian contingent from the left bank of the Dniester is part of the ceasefire conditions in Ukraine, the official clarified that, at the current stage, this is not the case, although the subject is periodically mentioned in different contexts of the discussions.
The official mentioned that although the Russian presence in the region is a known threat, Kiev does not wish to open new diplomatic complications at this stage of the peace negotiations.
At the same time, Kirill Budanov stated that the Ukrainian military negotiators group has already concluded discussions about the regime that will be maintained after the ceasefire, however, the territorial issue remains unresolved for now.
