In recent days, a significant number of bomb threats targeting various institutions in the Republic of Moldova have been recorded. According to law enforcement, these actions represent a deliberate attempt to disrupt the activities of public institutions and aim to create panic in society and consume significant state resources, IPN reports.
The General Inspectorate of Police specifies that every report is treated with utmost seriousness and is verified according to legal procedures. Although the phenomenon is not new, after a period in which the number of these cases significantly decreased, a new increase in bomb alerts has been observed in recent days.
Law enforcement officials say that each intervention involves the mobilization of a large number of employees and the use of resources that could be directed towards other emergency situations. At the same time, the alerts lead to the evacuation of people, the interruption of the activities of the targeted institutions and create discomfort for citizens.
The police emphasize that false bomb alerts constitute crimes and are investigated by law enforcement agencies. The institution affirms that it undertakes all necessary measures to identify the individuals involved and draws attention to the fact that the authors of such acts will be criminally liable.
