The flows will remain low on the Dniester, Prut and most of the small rivers in the Republic of Moldova until October 2nd. According to AMMM, red and orange codes are valid for several sectors, and the population and economic agents are urged to use water resources rationally, reports IPN.
The Authority for Meteorology and Environmental Monitoring states that the orange code is in effect on the Nistru river, with the water flow being approximately 30% of the multi-annual monthly average values. Also, on the Prut, the orange code is in effect on the Criva-Costesti and Ungheni-Branza sectors, where the water flow constitutes 20-30% of the usual values. Between Costesti and Ungheni, the yellow code is in effect, with values of 35-40%.
According to AMMM, the most difficult situation is recorded on some small rivers. Thus, for the Draghiste, Cubolta, Ciulucul Mic and Botna rivers, a red code was issued, with water flow being 10% or less than the multi-annual average. At the same time, a red code is also valid on Ichel, where the level is about 15%.
Also, on the Vilia river, the orange code is valid, with a flow of approximately 20%, and on Raut, Bac, Lunga, and Cainar – the yellow code, the values being about 30-40% of the multiannual monthly averages.
The authorities specify that the warning can be updated depending on the evolution of hydrometeorological phenomena.
