Students from ethnic minorities have the opportunity to participate in the republican contest “Young Researcher”. The contest is launched by the Ministry of Education and Research and consists of developing, in the languages of minorities, an essay about the path of the Republic of Moldova towards independence, reports IPN.
According to the MEC, the theme of this year’s edition is “35 years of independence of the Republic of Moldova: together we create the history of our country”. The essays will reflect the path of the Republic of Moldova towards independence, the history of the family and the community to which the participants belong, as well as the changes that have occurred in their hometowns. Also, the works can reflect the contribution of different ethnic groups to the country’s development, the preservation of the mother tongue, traditions and cultural heritage, as well as the students’ vision of the future of the Republic of Moldova.
The competition will take place in several stages: first, educational institutions will evaluate the works presented by students between October 1 and 16 and will transmit the best essays to the corresponding ethnic organizing committee. At the republican stage, the essays will be evaluated within the ethnic sections, and the authors of the best works will be invited to participate in the oral examination. At the republican stage, sections will be organized for Ukrainian, Bulgarian, Russian, and Gagauz languages, as well as a multilingual section intended for the languages of other ethnic minorities in the Republic of Moldova.
The winners of the contest will be awarded at a public event, on February 21, 2027, on International Mother Language Day.
