A Ukrainian woman and a German man were detained in Chisinau, suspected of involvement in the activities of an organized criminal group that allegedly facilitated prostitution in the capital. According to the General Inspectorate of Police, the woman is suspected of having coordinated the group’s activities, while the man is believed to have acted as the collector of the money earned, reports IPN.

IGP states that the two were detained as part of procedural actions carried out on the territory of the “Eugen Doga” Chisinau International Airport. According to law enforcement, the group members would have had well-defined roles, from organizing and coordinating activities to contacting customers and collecting money. Several young women from Ukraine, the Russian Federation, Brazil, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and the Republic of Moldova would have been accommodated in apartments provided by the group members.

At the same time, the connection with clients would have been ensured through dispatchers. Subsequently, the young women would have transmitted to the organizers, through collectors, between 30% and 50% of the revenues obtained. The collected money would have been converted into cryptocurrencies and transferred to the individuals who would have coordinated the activity.

Law enforcement officials mention that the detained suspects are being investigated for pimping committed by an organized criminal group, and if found guilty, they risk five to ten years in prison. The investigations continue to establish all the circumstances and identify other people involved.
