Citizens of the Republic of Moldova who are, transit, or intend to travel to the southern regions of France are warned about the outbreak of a massive vegetation fire, which has led to the interruption of traffic on the main road axis that connects the French Republic with the Kingdom of Spain, namely the A9 highway, between the localities of Narbonne and Perpignan, reports IPN.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reports that the fire broke out in the Aude department, in the Occitania region, and has affected over 11 thousand hectares of vegetation, being considered the most extensive wildfire occurred during this summer period.
Next to the A9 highway, road traffic has been halted on several secondary and regional roads as well. Authorities recommend utmost caution and avoidance of the affected area.
