The three men detained on election day for preparing post-electoral mass disorders were placed under preventive arrest for 30 days on Tuesday, reports IPN.
Two of the suspects are brothers and have been under surveillance for nearly two months. According to the General Inspectorate of Police, they are believed to be employees of the force structures on the left bank of the Dniester and would have had the role of coordinating and providing logistical support to the destabilizing groups.
According to investigators, the actions were to be implemented immediately after the closure of the polling stations, but also during protests planned for the next day.
At the time of their arrest, the suspects had pyrotechnic articles and flammable materials on them, which they intended to use to create panic and chaos in public spaces.
The criminal investigation is underway, and other details have not been made public yet.
