The last days of the year 2025 will be frosty. The low temperatures will persist, and meteorologists might issue a new strong wind warning for December 31st. Light snowfall will occur in some places.
Contacted by IPN, the head of the Weather Forecasting Department within the State Hydrometeorological Service, Ghenadii Rsca, stated that the cold will persist until the first days of the new year. “In the following days, we expect the weather to remain quite cold, more precisely until around the 2nd of January. Subsequently, the temperatures will start to gradually increase, and by the 5th of January we will have positive values, including at night”, Ghenadii Rosca specified.
From Monday to Tuesday, the lows will vary between -1 and -6 degrees. On New Year’s Eve, the air temperature will fluctuate between -5 and -10 degrees Celsius.
On Tuesday, throughout the day, temperatures between -2 and +3 are forecasted, and on Wednesday – between -6 and 0 degrees. After the New Year, the weather will gradually warm up, and the temperatures will exceed the normal values for this time of year, SHS reports. Thermometers will indicate between +4 and +9 degrees Celsius.
Light snowfalls are forecasted for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Isolated, the snow layer could reach 2-3 centimeters.
