The airspace in the northern region of the country was temporarily closed this morning, after several unmanned aircraft were detected in the national airspace. According to the Ministry of Defense, the restriction was imposed for security reasons, reports IPN.

According to the MA, in the context of the massive attacks by the Russian Federation on Ukraine, the Air Operations Service detected an unauthorized overflight of the national airspace by an unmanned aircraft. It entered the airspace of the Republic of Moldova at 06:14 AM, from the direction of the Chelimenti ocality, Chernivtsi region, Ukraine, and crossed the state border in the direction of the Larga locality, Briceni district.

At 06:16, the object left the national airspace and moved in the direction of Chelimenti, Ukraine.

At the same time, at 05:21 AM, a patrol of the Border Police of the Republic of Moldova observed another unidentified object, moving from the direction of Velicoe Cosnita, Vinita region, Ukraine, towards the locality of Vasilcau, Soroca district. Subsequently, it left the national airspace.

Another object crossed the national airspace at 06:35 AM, from the direction of Pridnistreanske, Vinita region, Ukraine, towards the locality of Volovita, Soroca district. At 06:45 AM, it was observed by citizens moving in the direction of Gura Cainarului – Lunga – Bahrinesti – Gura Camencii, Floresti district.

For security reasons, the airspace of the Republic of Moldova in the northern area has been temporarily closed.

Another drone flew over the airspace at 06:58 AM, from the direction of the town of Kodima, Vinita region, Ukraine, towards the town of Socola, in the Transnistrian segment area. At 07:11 AM, the object disappeared from the monitoring systems near the town of Cunicea, Camenca district.

At 07:46 AM, the airspace in the northern area was reopened. The authorities specify that the Air Operations Service continues to monitor the national airspace, in coordination with the competent authorities and partners.
