PRESS RELEASE
With today’s decision of the Supreme Court of Justice, which rejected the Democratic Party’s appeal regarding the registration in the electoral race, the PAS government has confirmed that it holds control over the judiciary, the Central Election Commission, and other institutions that should be independent by definition and which it uses strictly in its political and group interest.
This decision is arbitrary, unjustified, and abusive, and it represents an unbeatable argument that the parliamentary scrutiny of September 28 was severely flawed from the start, therefore, there is already enough reason to conclude from now on that the elections are rigged.
PDMM fully meets all the legal conditions to participate in the elections, and the insinuations made by SIS, at the direct indication of the PAS representatives, used to justify this abuse of power, show that the democratic institutions in the Republic of Moldova no longer function, and the state is run by a kleptocratic and authoritarian regime, subservient to foreign and clan interests, which directly threatens the security of citizens and blatantly violates freedoms and fundamental rights.
However, despite the abuses, intimidation attempts, and pressures that our team members are subjected to today, the Modern Democratic Party of Moldova will not give up the fight and will continue to confront this regime that has lost its legitimacy and methodically destroys the state. All these illegalities confirm that the PDMM represents the political force that the current government fears the most, therefore, this motivates us to act firmly and confirms that we are on the right path.
We urge all our members and supporters not to be intimidated and discouraged, because when a despotic and anti-national regime sees you as its main adversary, this should honor us. Let’s close ranks, unite our forces and rise up now, to defend our country and its citizens and to free it from the clutches of this toxic and parasitic regime that is killing us cell by cell.
In a short while, the leadership team representatives of the PDMM will convene to agree on the future strategy, in the new political context that has arisen, and we will return with more details regarding the next steps.
