The construction work on the park-and-ride facility on Calea Orheiului in the capital is progressing, and the paving is almost complete. The next steps are the installation of electrical cables, the arrangement of green spaces, and the installation of access control and video surveillance systems, reports IPN.

The mayor of the capital, Ion Ceban, specifies that the parking lot will have 178 spaces, of which 11 are for people with disabilities, three entrances, and a modular sanitary block. Also, green areas will be arranged.

To facilitate the transfer to public transport, two waiting stations will be arranged – one within the parking lot and another on the opposite side of Calea Orheiului street. The connection between them will be ensured through a pedestrian crossing with a refuge island.

The municipality mentions that the parking is intended for drivers who will be able to leave their cars at the city entrance and continue their journey through Chisinau by public transport.
