The President of the Parliament, Igor Grosu, will participate in the European Conference of Parliament Presidents from member states of the Council of Europe, which will take place in Rome, during the period of October 15-16. The head of the legislature will deliver a speech within a panel dedicated to hybrid threats to resilient democracies, reports IPN.
The event will bring together over 70 presidents and vice-presidents of parliaments from the 46 member states of the Council of Europe, as well as over 500 delegates. Representatives of parliaments from partner countries, observer status states or neighboring countries of the Council of Europe, as well as presidents of several interparliamentary assemblies, will also participate in the conference.
This year’s conference agenda includes three main topics: hybrid threats to resilient democracies, the impact of artificial intelligence on the labor market, and the role of parliaments in managing contemporary crises.
On the sidelines of the event, Igor Grosu has planned bilateral meetings with counterparts from several countries, as well as meetings with Moldovan entrepreneurs from Italy.
The conference takes place every two years, under the auspices of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe. This year’s edition is hosted by the Italian Parliament, which first organized the event in Rome, in 1975.
