The preventive detention measure for former MP Constantin Tutu has been extended by another 30 days. The information was confirmed to IPN by Violina Moraru, the spokesperson for the General Prosecutor’s Office.
A statement issued by PCCOCS mentions that the Chisinau Court had previously rejected the request for extension, proposing house arrest, but the decision was challenged.
Prosecutors allege that in September-October 2025, the defendant illegally crossed the border into Ukraine and promised over 14,000 lei to a border guard at the Vulcanesti–Vinogradovca checkpoint. He was detained at the border, and the amount allegedly offered as a bribe was found on him.
The PCCOCS is continuing its investigations, in accordance with procedural guarantees and the presumption of innocence.
Constantin Țuțu was detained on the evening of October 2 at the border in Vulcanesti, after allegedly arriving from Ukraine. He had previously entered the Transnistrian region illegally via Ukraine, despite being banned from leaving Greece, a measure imposed after his detention on July 22 at Athens Airport, alongside Vlad Plahotniuc.
