The regional customs posts Chisinau 1 (PVI) (Industrial) and Chisinau 2 (PVI) (Cricova) will also operate on weekends until the end of the year. The measure is introduced by the Customs Service to facilitate customs operations and to provide economic operators with more flexibility in transport planning, reports IPN.

Thus, between October 9 and December 31, the two customs offices will operate from Monday to Sunday, between 08:00 AM and 05:00 PM. According to the Customs Service, the extended schedule is introduced as part of a pilot project, which will allow the assessment of business environment needs and the efficiency of the measure.

For this purpose, the institution will monitor the number of operations carried out, the time required for customs formalities, and the demand for services during the weekend. The results will form the basis for decisions regarding the advisability of maintaining or adjusting the activity schedule.
