We are celebrating Wine Day this weekend. The traditional festival has a special schedule in PMAN

The Great National Assembly Square will host the National Wine Day this weekend. The event, now in its 24th edition this year, will bring together over a hundred winemakers, reports IPN.

According to the National Office of Vine and Wine, for two days visitors are invited to discover exceptional wines and indigenous varieties, they can participate in launches and learn the story of each type of wine.

Almost 100 producers will present their finest creations, the traditional Wine School will be open, and the festival atmosphere will be enhanced by tastings, thematic areas, local gastronomy, live music and creative workshops.

The two-day program also includes performances by national folk ensembles, groups from Moldova and abroad, as well as recitals by well-known artists and bands. On Saturday, October 4, Costi Burlacu & Corina Tepes, the Tricotage and Cuibul bands will perform on the PMAN stage, and the evening will be concluded by Zdob și Zdub. On October 5, Anisoara Puica, Ice Wine Band, the Snails band and Misha Miller will perform, followed by an afterparty with DJ Fox.

Just like last year’s edition, visitors will be able to purchase the “Taster’s Notebook”. The special package includes a reusable tritan glass, 12 tastings, and a 20% discount on promotional “Wine of Moldova” items. The notebook is valid for both days and costs 250 lei.

The former president of the Constitutional Court, Alexandru Tanase, stated that the changes regarding the competences of the Gagauz autonomy in organizing elections do not represent an infringement on its status. “Gagauzia does not have enemies in Moldova,” Tănase declared in the show “Teritoria Svobodi” with Lilia Burakovski, reports IPN.

Alexandru Tanase also stated that Comrat is being “brazenly manipulated”. “I am very sorry that, after 30 years, other political parties are not normally represented there, and pro-Moscow oriented politicians control the situation in the autonomy”, clarified the former president of the Constitutional Court.

In his opinion, this is a backlog of Chisinau, for which the country will pay a high price due to the ignorance of the situation in the region.

He mentioned that, most likely, legislative changes will be made, according to which Chisinau will designate the electoral bodies itself that will organize the elections in Gagauzia – on the date set by the Popular Assembly.

“Gagauzia has no enemy in the Republic of Moldova. There is no politician – not even the most marginal – who would say that autonomy should be abolished or that certain competencies should be reduced,” concluded the former president of the Constitutional Court.
