TRM has launched the competition for the position of general director

The Supervisory Board of the public company “Teleradio-Moldova” has launched a competition for the position of general director, following the resignation of Vlad Turcanu on May 18, reports IPN.

According to the regulations, the general director will be appointed for a term of seven years, without the possibility of renewal. Candidates must be citizens of the Republic of Moldova, have higher education in a relevant field, and at least five years of managerial experience.

Among the eligibility conditions are the absence of unexpunged criminal records, an impeccable reputation, and no political affiliation in the last two years. Candidates must not have been convicted of corruption offenses, nor be prohibited from holding leadership positions by final court decisions.

Candidates must present identification documents, diplomas of studies, a managerial project for the company’s development for the next seven years, as well as self-declarations and documents confirming integrity and compatibility with the position.

Participation files can be submitted until July 10, 05:00 PM, either at the TRM headquarters or in electronic format, at the email address indicated in the official announcement. According to the Supervisory Council, incomplete files or those submitted after the deadline will not be reviewed.

Vlad Turcanu, appointed director in December 2021, announced his resignation on May 18th during a press conference, in the context of the scandal that erupted after the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 finale. Controversies arose following the score given by the Moldovan jurors to Romania, which generated reactions and criticism in the public space. On May 22nd, with five “pro” votes and two “against”, the TRM Supervisory Council took note of his resignation. Until the appointment of a new director, he ensures the interim.

Users from several countries reported connection issues with Facebook on Sunday. The number of reports rapidly increased during the morning, suggesting a possible widespread malfunction, according to the Downdetector platform, quoted by IPN.

According to reports in the international press, users are experiencing difficulties with authentication, loading the news feed, and using some features of the social network. It is not yet clear whether other services of the Meta company are also affected.

In Moldova, there are issues with browser connectivity, but access through the application is possible. Until this time, Meta company has not provided an explanation for the cause of the incident nor a timeline for its resolution. In the absence of an official confirmation, the exact extent of the disruption remains unclear.

The Downdetector platform monitors online service interruptions and centralizes user reports and other data regarding their functionality. A sudden increase in notifications usually indicates the existence of a technical problem.
