Traffic restrictions in the center of the capital due to Eugen Doga’s funeral

Traffic will be restricted on certain streets in the city center on Thursday due to the funeral of Eugen Doga. Drivers will not be able to partially circulate between 09:00-13:00 on Puskin, Alecsandri, Mateevici streets, as well as on Stefan cel Mare si Sfant boulevard, as reported by IPN.

The City Hall of Chisinau specifies that traffic restrictions will affect Puskin street, the section between București and Micle streets, between 09:30-10:00.

At 13:00 , the funeral procession will move towards the Central Cemetery on Armenească street, causing road traffic to be blocked on Puskin street, between Micle street and Stefan cel Mare si Sfant boulevard. Similarly, road traffic will be suspended on Stefan cel Mare si Sfant boulevard, between Puskin and Alecsandri streets.

Traffic will also be blocked on Alecsandri street, between Stefan cel Mare și Sfant boulevard and Mateevici street, as well as on Mateevici street, between Alecsandri and Armeneasca streets, up until the Central Cemetery.

Drivers are urged to comply with the requirements of traffic agents, to show patience and discipline on the road, without deviating from the regulations.

The composer passed away on June 3rd, at the age of 88. Thursday has been declared a national day of mourning. In all localities across the country, as well as in the diplomatic and consular missions of the Republic of Moldova abroad, the flag is lowered to half-mast.

The former president of the Constitutional Court, Alexandru Tanase, stated that the changes regarding the competences of the Gagauz autonomy in organizing elections do not represent an infringement on its status. “Gagauzia does not have enemies in Moldova,” Tănase declared in the show “Teritoria Svobodi” with Lilia Burakovski, reports IPN.

Alexandru Tanase also stated that Comrat is being “brazenly manipulated”. “I am very sorry that, after 30 years, other political parties are not normally represented there, and pro-Moscow oriented politicians control the situation in the autonomy”, clarified the former president of the Constitutional Court.

In his opinion, this is a backlog of Chisinau, for which the country will pay a high price due to the ignorance of the situation in the region.

He mentioned that, most likely, legislative changes will be made, according to which Chisinau will designate the electoral bodies itself that will organize the elections in Gagauzia – on the date set by the Popular Assembly.

“Gagauzia has no enemy in the Republic of Moldova. There is no politician – not even the most marginal – who would say that autonomy should be abolished or that certain competencies should be reduced,” concluded the former president of the Constitutional Court.
