The Topaz plant denies reports that the company has been banned from making new investments by the Council for the Examination of Investments of Importance to State Security on the grounds that “the investments were intended for the production of ammunition”, IPN reports.
At the same time, in connection with the decision of the Council for the Examination of Strategic Investments, Topaz S.A. declares that it will file a request with the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office to investigate officials who may have abused their public office.
The institution specifies that Uzina Topaz and no other person has submitted any application requesting approval for investments from the Council for the Examination of Strategic Investments.
In a statement issued by the company, the information published today by IPN and other media outlets is denied. The statement indicates that the Topaz Plant in Chișinău, owned by the Russian corporation ODK, has been prohibited from making new investments, with the decision being made by the Council for the Examination of Investments of Importance to State Security.
