Theatre schools from Romania, Italy, France, and Poland, along with students from the Academy of Music, Theatre and Fine Arts of Moldova (AMTAP), will perform a series of shows in Chisinau. These will be presented between November 10 and 15, as part of the XIVth edition of the International Festival of Theatre and Film Schools, launched by AMTAP. Entry to all festival events is free, reports IPN.
During a press conference, the artistic director of the festival, Svetlana Tîrțău, mentioned that the current edition will be special, due to the fact that it is focused on learning, theatrical education, and experimentation. Four creative workshops will be organized, with four theater teachers, who will work, this week, with students from Moldova and representatives of theater schools from Romania, Italy, France, and Poland.
Victor Tihoneac, Senior Consultant at the Ministry of Culture, appreciated the perseverance of the teaching staff at AMTAP, who make time for the realization of important events. In Victor Tihoneac’s opinion, these provide students with a unique opportunity to gain experience and collaborate with renowned artists.
The Rector of AMTAP, Victoria Melnic, noted the organization of acting workshops and, as a doctor of arts, emphasized that this edition of the festival is experimental, offering students the opportunity to interact intensively in a creative process, so that they can present their results at the end of the week.
The festival program includes solo performances by AMTAP students, who have demonstrated their views on humanitarian, social, political, and cultural crises. And the Leon Schiller National Higher School of Film, Television and Theatre in Lodz, Poland, as a special guest, will present the play “The God of Small Things”, based on the novel by Arundhati Roy.
