The wastewater treatment system in the village of Andrusul de Jos, Cahul district, has been modernized with the financial support of Japanese partners. Through the “Kusanone” program, the Government of Japan has provided non-reimbursable financing of nearly 98 thousand dollars for the installation of three wastewater treatment systems in the locality, reports IPN.
At the inauguration ceremony, the Japanese Ambassador to Chisinau, Kazuyuki Takeuchi, stated that, thanks to this project, children from kindergartens and schools benefit from safe and comfortable sanitary conditions. In his opinion, more efficient wastewater management will contribute to maintaining a cleaner and healthier environment for the entire community.
The “Kusanone” Human Security Grants Program was launched in the Republic of Moldova in 2008. To date, the Government of Japan has provided non-reimbursable funding totaling approximately 8 million dollars for 97 projects implemented in the fields of health, education, and services.
