The arteries of the capital have begun to be sprinkled with water in Chisinau. According to local authorities, the measure is intended to protect the asphalt from damage caused by the heatwave and to limit the effects of heat on road infrastructure, reports IPN.
“In the context of the high temperatures during this period, municipal teams have initiated the sprinkling of the roadways on major traffic arteries. The measures will be applied throughout the summer, whenever weather conditions require intervention”, states the Chisinau City Hall, in a press release.
Meteorologists have issued a yellow heatwave warning for Friday, for the south and center of the country. According to the State Hydrometeorological Service, extreme temperatures will be recorded, with highs varying between 33 and 35 degrees Celsius.
