The Republic of Moldova has signaled to the OSCE the regional risks generated by repeated violations of national airspace by drones, in the context of the war in Ukraine. The subject was addressed by the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Moldova to the OSCE, Ambassador Victoria Rosa, during the 1,145th meeting of the Forum for Security Cooperation organized in Austria.
The Ambassador of the Republic of Moldova to Austria, Victoria Rosa, mentioned the incidents of September 8, 12, and 14, as well as their increasingly worrying nature, due to their frequency, cross-border trajectories, and the risks they pose to the population and civil aviation.
The delegation of the Republic of Moldova reiterated that the sovereignty and airspace of states must be respected, civilians protected, and the Russian Federation must cease the war against Ukraine and actions that undermine regional and European security.
Established in 1992, the Security Cooperation Forum holds weekly meetings and is one of the main decision-making bodies of the OSCE in the politico-military field.
