The major repair works of a nine-kilometer road sector have begun in the Anenii Noi district. The section starts from the exit of the Cobusca Noua locality and crosses the Cobusca Veche and Floresti localities. As part of the project, the road foundation will be rehabilitated and subsequently asphalted, reports IPN.
According to the National Road Administration, the contractor has already set up the construction site and is carrying out profiling work, installing curbs, and cleaning culverts. The damaged ones will be replaced with new ones.
The project envisages the construction of 11 bridges and the repair of another 12. The ditches will be reinforced with concrete over a length of more than 1.2 kilometers. Sidewalks for pedestrians will be arranged over a length of 2.4 kilometers, as well as three waiting stations. Also, access roads to the side roads and courtyards will be arranged.
“This is a significant road sector, benefiting over 11 thousand residents. We will monitor the progress of the work and the proper implementation of the project, respecting the quality requirements and the established deadline,” stated the general director of AND, Stefan Popa.
At the same time, the institution mentions that for increasing traffic safety, 934 meters of metal railing, 381 guideposts, and 162 road signs will be installed, and the road marking will be applied over an area of more than 3,600 square meters. The contract value exceeds 122 million lei, funds allocated from the Road Fund. The works are to be completed within two years.
