The legislative process in the Republic of Moldova will be regulated by a Code, which will replace the Parliament’s Regulations, adopted in 1996 and considered outdated by authorities, reports IPN.
According to the legislature, the adoption of the Code on the organization and functioning of the Parliament responds to the need to implement the recommendations of the European Commission from the expansion reports for 2024 and 2025 and to align with the community acquis.
The new code will clearly establish the distribution of tasks among the main bodies of the Parliament: the Permanent Bureau, the standing committees, and the legislative forum, gathered in plenary sessions.
The project will be subject to public consultations starting from February 2026.
