The Orhei Court has annulled the decision of the Central Electoral Commission through which Victor Pertu, the candidate of the Democracy at Home Party, was excluded from the electoral race for the Orhei Mayoralty. However, the court’s decision is not final and can be appealed to the Balti Court of Appeal, reports IPN.
Victor Pertu’s lawyer stated that the court has annulled the CEC decision, however his return to the electoral race will only be confirmed after the decision of the Court of Appeal or in case the decision will not be contested.
Representatives of the Central Electoral Commission have specified for IPN that the decision of the court of first instance is to be appealed at the Court of Appeal.
The candidate of the Home Democracy Party for the Orhei Mayoralty, Victor Pertu, was excluded from the electoral race after the CEC found his involvement in the activities of the former Șor party. The decision was made following a request submitted by Sergiu Stanciu, candidate of the Action and Solidarity Party, who invoked the existence of a disguised electoral bloc between the Home Democracy Party and the Șor party, declared unconstitutional.
