The municipal authorities of Balti have decided to reinstate the autonomous heating systems in the city’s educational institutions, reports IPN.
“Since SA CET-Nord is not fulfilling its obligations, the city is left without a stable centralized heating system. We cannot allow students and kindergarten children to be left in the cold. For this reason, I have ordered the reactivation of the autonomous heating systems, which were shut down a few years ago”, wrote Mayor Alexandr Petkov on Facebook.
The mayor has also published a copy of the provision that stipulates the reactivation of these systems starting from October 9th.
“Unfortunately, the process requires time, but it will ensure comfortable conditions for our children, regardless of the technical problems of the heat provider,” the mayor further mentioned.
According to Deputy Mayor Vitalie Balan, quoted by TVN, 13 of the 32 kindergartens in the city have not yet been connected to heating. Six schools also remain without district heating.
