The Governor of the National Bank of Moldova (BNM), Anca Dragu, leads the delegation of the Republic of Moldova to the high-level meeting of the Constituency of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank Group, which takes place from July 2 to 4, in Luxembourg. The event represents a platform for dialogue on issues related to fiscal policies applied in the current geopolitical context, reports IPN.
BNM states in a press release that the meeting provides a conducive environment for constructive dialogue, facilitating a broad exchange of ideas and perspectives. It also contributes to strengthening cooperation and deepening partnership relations between the member states of the IMF Constituency, led by the Kingdom of the Netherlands and Belgium.
According to Anca Dragu, in the context of the European path of the Republic of Moldova, active participation in this format contributes to the strengthening of relations with international partners and the promotion of a common vision for sustainable, secure, and inclusive development.
On the sidelines of the meeting, the Governor of the BNM will have meetings with high-ranking officials of the International Monetary Fund, the World Bank Group, the European Commission, as well as with her counterparts from other central banks.
The Republic of Moldova has been a member of the Constituency since August 12, 2012, alongside: Andorra, Armenia, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Croatia, Georgia, Israel, Luxembourg, North Macedonia, Montenegro, the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Romania, and Ukraine.
In the year 2024, the Constituency Meeting took place in Chisinau, marking a premiere for the Republic of Moldova and providing an international dialogue platform on financial and sustainable development issues.
