The government has planted 110 thousand saplings as part of the “Forest Generation” campaign

The government has planted over 110 thousand saplings in Mihailovca, Cimislia district, covering an area of 27 hectares. This action is part of the campaign to rehabilitate the degraded forest fund and create new forests – “The Forest Generation”, launched in 2023 at the initiative of President Maia Sandu, reports IPN.

“Currently, Moldova has only 11% of its surface covered by forests, while the average in Europe exceeds 35%. We have a lot of work and recovery ahead, but I am convinced that, together, we can change this reality,” declared the Minister of Environment, Gheorghe Hajder.

Over 180 planting locations are available throughout the country. Volunteers can also participate in the following days, choosing the lands near the region where they live. More information and details about the registration process can be found on the official page of the “Moldsilva” Agency, by clicking the “Participate in autumn 2025 plantings” button.
