The cabinet of ministers is set to convene on Wednesday in its first meeting following the resignation of Alexandru Munteanu. This will be presided over by the interim Prime Minister, Eugeniu Osmochescu, reports IPN.
The agenda includes five projects. Among these are the approval of the admission plan for higher education institutions for the academic year 2026-2027 and the amendment of the Regulation on the administrative-financial activity of the diplomatic service institutions of the Republic of Moldova abroad.
The incumbent ministers will also examine the project regarding the establishment of the preliminary research commission for declaring the public utility of national interest of the construction works for the bypass sector of the city of Drochia, part of the national road R7 “R14 Drochia – Costesti – border with Romania”.
On the meeting’s agenda, there is also a project regarding the appointment of financial experts who will represent the Republic of Moldova in the international arbitration procedure initiated by Park Avenue Capital LLC against the state.
The Government meeting is scheduled for 03:00 PM.
Alexandru Munteanu announced his resignation from the position of Prime Minister at the beginning of July. Until the inauguration of the new Government, the executive is temporarily led by Deputy Prime Minister Eugeniu Osmochescu. In the meantime, President Maia Sandu has appointed Vasile Tofan as a candidate for the position of Prime Minister, who is in the process of drafting the government program and the composition of the future cabinet of ministers.
