Europe Day was celebrated on Saturday in Soroca, in Liberty Square, where the European Town gathered hundreds of visitors. Participants discovered European culture and values through music, dance, artistic moments, and interactive activities, in a festive atmosphere full of surprises and prizes, reports IPN.
The mayor of Soroca municipality, Lilia Pilipetchi, stated that the city emotionally conveys a message of support for European values, emphasizing that the European Union means care for people, families living in safety, and solidarity among citizens. According to her, Soroca believes in these principles and promotes them.
Present at the event, the President of the Parliament, Igor Grosu, emphasized the importance of the European path of the Republic of Moldova and the values that the European Union brings to its citizens. He also said that Europe means peace, respect, and jobs, and that everyone must contribute so that the country becomes part of the European family.
A message was also conveyed by Mate Csicsai, Deputy Head of the EU Delegation in Moldova, who emphasized that the European spirit is found in the people gathered in Soroca. The official said that Europe is not just a distant idea, but is felt in the atmosphere, energy, and people, and the presence of hundreds of participants represents the best image of European values.
The event culminated in a concert dedicated to Europe Day, featuring performances by Gabriel Nebunu, Akord, and Carla’s Dreams.
