For the parliamentary elections on September 28, the documents required for the registration of electoral blocs must be submitted to the Central Electoral Commission no later than 30 days before the start of the candidate nomination period, which roughly corresponds to June 20. The regulation on the specifics of the formation and registration of electoral blocs was approved at the CEC meeting on June 17, reports IPN.
An electoral bloc is formed based on an agreement between two or more political parties registered with the Public Services Agency. The decision of a party to participate in the formation of the electoral bloc must be recorded in a protocol, approved according to the statute of the formation.
Political parties whose activity is limited cannot form electoral blocks.
The regulation will replace the instruction previously approved by the CEC decision from the year 2023. The text will be published on the official page www.cec.md, in the “Normative Framework” section, under the “Regulations” subsection.
