At the end of this week, the “DescOpera” Outdoor Classical Music Festival will take place. The event will take place from June 18-21 at the Orheiul Vechi Complex, reports IPN.
For the first time, the program includes four consecutive evenings of opera and classical music performances. This year’s edition will bring together prestigious artists and cultural institutions from the Republic of Moldova and Romania.
The festival kicks off on June 18 with a special preview – the opera “The Barber of Seville” by Gioachino Rossini, presented by the Bucharest National Opera.
On June 19, the public is expected to attend a program of famous rhapsodies performed by the “Serghei Lunchevici” National Philharmonic, and on June 20, spectators will be able to watch the opera “Nabucco” by Giuseppe Verdi, performed by the “Maria Biesu” National Opera and Ballet Theater.
The festival will conclude on June 21 with the “Strauss Dynasty” Gala, dedicated to the waltzes and famous creations of the Strauss family, supported by the Symphony Orchestra of the “Teleradio-Moldova” Company.
In addition to the artistic program, visitors will have the opportunity to discover traditional crafts through the folk craftsmen of the Republic of Moldova and the creative workshops. The organizers have also prepared tours in the Old Orhei Cultural-Natural Reserve, farm visits and other cultural and recreational activities.
For spectators who will travel from Chisinau to Butuceni and back, the organizers provide organized transportation during the four days of the festival. The departure from Chisinau is scheduled at 03:30 PM, and the return from Butuceni at 10:30 PM.
