The Central Electoral Commission received, on Friday, the documents and subscription lists with signatures collected in support of Victoria Sanduta, who intends to run as an independent candidate for the position of deputy in the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova, in the elections of September 28, reports IPN.
According to the preliminary order of registration on the ballot, Victoria Sanduta is expected to occupy the 17th position. The CEC will examine the file and decide on the validation of the candidacy within 7 days.
In December of last year, former judge Victoria Sanduta announced that she was joining the Coalition for Unity and Prosperity party, stating that she wanted to get involved in politics to bring “what has been awaited for too long: competence, courage, and truth”. Shortly thereafter – about a month later – she withdrew from the party, citing “fundamental differences in vision regarding the future organization and development of the party”.
Applications for participation in the elections can be submitted to the CEC until August 19th.
