The import and delivery of goods and services intended for the implementation of the project “Rehabilitation of the Bac River and Protection against Floods in Chisinau” will benefit from tax and customs facilities. A draft law providing for this was voted on today in two readings by Parliament, IPN reports.
The legislative initiative belongs to the unaffiliated deputy Gaik Vartanean, and the substantiation note of the document states that the exemption from VAT, customs duty and customs procedure fees will generate savings of about four million euros. According to the author, the money saved will be redirected to other social and infrastructure projects.
The project „Rehabilitation of the Bac River and Flood Protection in Chisinau” has a total budget of 12 million euros. This includes a loan of 8 million euros and a grant of 4 million euros, provided by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
