Press release
Switzerland continues to be a long-term partner for Moldova, through a financial contribution of 1.8 million Swiss francs to help Moldovan enterprises become stronger and more prepared for economic challenges. The initiative is implemented in collaboration with Germany, through GIZ Moldova and ODA – Organization for Entrepreneurship Development.
The signing of the grant agreement marks an important step towards increasing resilience, that is, the ability of businesses to cope with shocks and changes in general operating conditions. At the same time, the project also contributes to enhancing the competitiveness of Moldovan companies.
Through grants, small and medium enterprises will be able to invest in more energy-efficient equipment, renewable energy solutions, and technologies that reduce dependence on traditional energy sources. The goal is simple: lower consumption, reduced costs and more stable businesses.
The project funded by Switzerland will offer grants of up to 1.5 million MDL per company, covering up to 50% of the investment value. It is estimated that at least 25 enterprises will be supported, and the total investments generated will reach approximately 4 million euros, thanks to the contribution of the beneficiary companies.
In the long term, this means more competitive businesses, safer jobs, and a step forward for the economy of Moldova.
