Economic agents wishing to conduct their activities in the border area will no longer need prior approval from the Border Police to operate within 1,000 meters of the state border line. They will only be obliged to send a notification to the competent regional subdivision and inform about the planned activity, reports IPN.
The government has approved a new mechanism based on notification, instead of the previous approval one. The authorities argue that this change will make the process much faster and more predictable.
The notification can be submitted either online through the “e-Permit” informational system or the EVO governmental portal, as well as by e-mail or in physical format. The review period is 10 days, and if the institution does not provide a response within this interval, the notification is automatically considered accepted.
The government argues that the measure supports the business environment, reducing costs and the time required to initiate activities. However, the authorities emphasize that control mechanisms remain in place. The Border Police will be able to verify information from state systems and intervene in case irregularities are detected, giving operators a deadline to correct them. In the absence of remediation, the activity may be considered a violation of the border area regime.
