The annual inflation rate in the European Union fell to 2.5% in March from 2.7% in February. Romania is ranked last with the highest inflation, with 5.1% inflation, Eurostat statistics show, IPN reports.
The EU countries with the lowest annual inflation rates in March were France with 0.9%, Denmark with 1.4% and Luxembourg with 1.5%, while Romania, Hungary and Poland were at the opposite pole, reports the Romanian news agency Agerpres.

In the euro area, annual inflation eased slightly to 2.2% in March, from 2.3% in February. The largest contribution to the annual inflation rate in the euro area came from services, food, alcohol and cigarettes. In contrast, energy prices fell by 0.1 percentage points.
The National Bank of Romania has revised its inflation forecast to 3.8% for the end of 2025 and expects it to reach 3.1% at the end of 2026.
