The IT sector of the Republic of Moldova is one of the most dynamic sectors of the economy

The information technology industry has become one of the most dynamic sectors of the Republic of Moldova’s economy. In 2025, the IT sector contributed approximately 7.8% to the gross domestic product, while companies resident in Moldova Innovation Technology Park generated total sales of over 1 billion USD.

Moldova Innovation Technology Park plays a central role in the development of this sector by offering a unique tax regime – a 7% tax applied to sales revenue, guaranteed by law until 2035.

Currently, the IT park brings together over 2,830 resident companies from more than 46 countries, specializing in software development, IT consulting, data processing, digital platform management, and the development of technological products.

“Moldova Innovation Technology Park demonstrates that a stable and predictable fiscal framework can stimulate the development of a competitive technology sector at the international level. The 7% tax regime, guaranteed until 2035, provides stability and confidence to companies choosing the Republic of Moldova for technological projects. At the same time, Moldova is becoming increasingly attractive in Eastern Europe for technology investments, and MITP is consolidating its position as a regional technology hub”, mentioned Olesea Prodan, Chief Financial Officer of Moldova Innovation Technology Park.

The yellow fire hazard code has been extended until July 22. Meteorologists warn that the lack of precipitation and high temperatures will maintain an exceptional risk of vegetation fires, reports IPN.

The warning mainly targets the central area, but the municipality of Bălți and the northern districts of Glodeni and Soroca are also affected. In the southern area, the yellow code is valid until Cimislia, Basarabeasca and Taraclia.

In the context of maintaining an increased risk of fires, authorities urge the population to demonstrate maximum responsibility and to respect fire prevention rules. Rescuers recommend avoiding the use of open fire near forests, agricultural lands, and dry vegetation, prohibiting the burning of plant residues, garbage, and stubble, as well as avoiding the random throwing of cigarette butts or other lit objects. Any fire outbreak must be immediately reported to Service 112.
