Italy has been hit by its third heat wave of the year: meteorologists have issued red heat wave alerts for several regions of the country, according to the ANSA news agency, as reported by IPN.

If on Monday there were two localities under warning, on Tuesday four alerts were issued, and for Wednesday, seven cities will be under a red heatwave code, and 9 under an orange warning code. On Friday, 45 degrees are forecasted in Sardinia. Florence, which has been under a red code since July 8th until at least July 15th, records daily temperatures between 35 and 39 degrees Celsius.

The situation is just as difficult in Perugia, Brescia and Turin. The red code alert comes into effect on Wednesday in Bologna, Frosinone and Rome. And in 11 cities, the orange code warning comes into force. Some city halls have launched special telephone lines for the elderly or those with conditions who need help during this period, for the procurement of medicines, water or food, with payment on delivery. Calls will be redirected to community associations enrolled in the program who will do the shopping and deliver it to their homes.

The former president of the Constitutional Court, Alexandru Tanase, stated that the changes regarding the competences of the Gagauz autonomy in organizing elections do not represent an infringement on its status. “Gagauzia does not have enemies in Moldova,” Tănase declared in the show “Teritoria Svobodi” with Lilia Burakovski, reports IPN.

Alexandru Tanase also stated that Comrat is being “brazenly manipulated”. “I am very sorry that, after 30 years, other political parties are not normally represented there, and pro-Moscow oriented politicians control the situation in the autonomy”, clarified the former president of the Constitutional Court.

In his opinion, this is a backlog of Chisinau, for which the country will pay a high price due to the ignorance of the situation in the region.

He mentioned that, most likely, legislative changes will be made, according to which Chisinau will designate the electoral bodies itself that will organize the elections in Gagauzia – on the date set by the Popular Assembly.

“Gagauzia has no enemy in the Republic of Moldova. There is no politician – not even the most marginal – who would say that autonomy should be abolished or that certain competencies should be reduced,” concluded the former president of the Constitutional Court.

The municipal services are replacing the worn-out pipes in the basement of the building on Calea Iesilor Street, 19 in Chisinau, in order to eliminate leaks and improve the operation of the water and heating supply system, reports IPN.

The General Housing and Urban Development Directorate specifies that the block’s windows will also be replaced. According to the authorities, this measure will contribute to increasing the building’s energy efficiency, reducing heat loss in the cold season, and improving the appearance of common areas.

The municipality specifies that the works are part of the housing infrastructure modernization program. They aim to improve living conditions for residents, increase the safety of the building, and ensure more efficient and reliable community services.
