Prosecutors will request preventive arrest for 30 days for the man who fatally injured two patrol officers in the locality of Grigorauca, Sangerei district. According to the General Prosecutor’s Office, a criminal investigation has been initiated for the violation of traffic safety rules by the person driving a vehicle, reports IPN.
The two policemen, aged 25 and 29, were struck by a car in Grigorăuca, Sângerei district, while documenting an offense on the roadside, next to their properly parked service vehicle. Both suffered severe injuries and were transported to the hospital, where they later passed away.
According to the General Inspectorate of Police, the driver stated that he fell asleep at the wheel before the impact.
In the meantime, the Government has approved an aid of two million lei from the Reserve Fund for the families of the two police officers.
