Diana Pancenko, a pro-Kremlin journalist from Ukraine, has announced on her YouTube channel the launch of a volunteer program in which she plans to help Moldovans financially, IPN reports.
“Hundreds of thousands of people in Moldova, especially pensioners, have found themselves on the brink of survival. Many are forced to choose between paying for heating or buying food. Together we will choose who to help”, the journalist explained in her video.
Diana Pancenko’s initiatives coincide with the actions of oligarch Ilan Shor, who has repeatedly tried to influence the decisions of Moldovan citizens, especially pensioners, before the elections, through so-called financial aid in exchange for voting in favor of a candidate.
It should be noted that on the eve of the presidential elections and the constitutional referendum in Moldova last fall, the Shor “network” managed to bribe 140 thousand Moldovans to vote in favor of Shor, according to the head of the national police, Viorel Cernauteanu.
The organization Reporters Without Borders, which aims to defend press freedom, condemned the journalist’s initiative: “Diana Pancenko, who studied journalism in Ukraine before joining the ranks of pro-Russian propagandists, is spreading propaganda about Russia’s war in Ukraine. We condemn such manipulation in a journalistic format for the purpose of misinformation, as it jeopardizes the right to truthful information”.
Diana Pancenko has previously conducted interviews with Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukasenko and Russian nationalist Aleksandr Dugin, the latter considered the “architect” or “spiritual guide” of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
